You've always been able to play steam games like Half-Life with a program like Crossover right? Oh god this platform, engine, and game that was lovingly crafted in a OS environment unlike the one it was ported to is not perfect.
3 years.3 long years in that dark pit of a cell. I barely even remember what life was like on the outside before it took a turn for the horrible. My fate is sealed and I would gladly take death over what they have planned for me. I must escape; I must survive; I must kill every last one of them. They destroyed my life already; I have nothing more to lose. They may think that I'm just another trapped victim of their assimilating force, but they are wrong. I am not trapped.
After all, it is only after one has lost everything that one is free to do anything. And I shall do anything to have my revenge. What the hell have you been doing lately Valve?
The only note-worthy, original project that you've done lately is a copy-cat sequel to Left 4 Dead and God knows when we're even going to see at least some screenshots of Episode Three. Other than that, you've just ported a bunch of console games onto Steam. I was going to forgive your laziness with your announcement of Steam for Mac, but apparently you can't even do that properly. If your going to release a product, at least FINISH it first; I was annoyed when you postponed the release of Half-Life 2 back in 2004 a bunch of times, but at least when it was finally released you guys seriously delivered on all your promises with the greatest PC game of all time. Why didn't you just apply what you did there to Steam on Mac? No, instead you guys released a 'Half-Ass' (reference lol) attempt at allowing Mac users the same access to Steam that PC users enjoy by having the application not only unable to support ANY tools, including Source SDK, but you also only made Portal playable on Mac and none of the other well-known, amazing games that you have (e.g.
HL2 and it's episodes, HL2: Deathmatch, CSS:S, etc.). Valve, you guys seriously need to start stepping up your A-game, because this half-assery is really starting to tick me and I'm sure many other people off.

That being said, to all my loyal followers I would just like to apologize for the ridiculously long delay that there's been with this Mod. You can thank Gabe Newell and his crew's incompetence for that. Thanks for ruining my day, Valve. They not only delayed the critical patch for SDK because of this illusion of Steam for the mac, they also hand out portal for free,WTF? Also, Steam ppl made some pics showing HL2 for Mac.
Maybe i can't see HL2 with my steam, or GabeN is a liar and works maybe 15 mins a day for making a lazy copy of fake-steam. BTW, until may 24, portal is free, some ppl can play through in less than one day, so that would suffice. And, maybe they are going to make the orange box free, or valve complete box, or they are just giving ppl the whole VALVe corporation for free, those very intelligent ppl., I would appreciate it( Sarcasm) Have fun, I personally am only looking for mods nowadays, because it looks like VALVe neither started development for EP3 nor for Portal 2.
But there's all the effort gone in Team Fortress 2, with the updates, the bug fixing, assisting the community. And the other games that they've released/promised to release DLC for. Such as the recently finished 'The Passing' and the upcoming DLC for the first Left 4 Dead game. And they did that super cool radio transmission for the first Portal which, surprisingly, made a whole lot of people go back and replay it, including myself. So, all you guys who think they were ripped off, drop it. You got to be part of the unveiling of Portal 2, and you got to give money to one of the best developer and publisher! Good Job guys!
A lot of effort has gone into the new UI which is nice and really improves the Steam service as a whole. They've just done Steam for the Mac, which is nice because it opens it up to many more people and just makes Mac users more happy. They've just started the CS:S beta, which is not really too original but they are trying to bring the games to current standards. There's also Portal 2 coming out in a few months which Valve reckon will be their best game yet, so we should be excited for that! And aren't they working on some sort of RPG or MMO or something like that? That should be quite interesting, it's a niche that Valve hasn't tried before (Apart from with TF2.
XD) And there could be countless more project that they're keeping hush for the element of surprise. Unfortunately I'm worried about Episode 3, I want to believe that they're working really hard on it and that it's just going to be so epic that it's taking that long, but I don't know if I can believe that!
I just know that they don't want to ruin it for us.:D I think 2010/2011 will be Valve's year and we should all just hope that Valve do the best they possible can with both their older and upcoming games. Good luck Valve, and let your community learn to trust you. Well, it actually only updates once. Because at the beginning when he installed it, it had to update (obviously). The second time he 'thought' it was updating was when Portal was actually installing, Steam just refers to it as updating.
Did he really expect Portal to install immediately. And updating is important.
It means that we can get the best from the service for our money, or in the case of the free portal users, time. But the guy is unreasonable at other points too. Notice how he keeps referring to Steam as a website, can't install a simple game, and then gives up in the end and just deletes the shortcut. He obviously knows nothing about the idea of computers or how they have these things called, 'specifications'.
His Mac is rubbish. That still doesn't explain why the hell valve is wasting their time releasing a bunch of games that very few people give a crap about, while they are holding back the release of their most well-known game franchise. I seriously don't get it! Why is Portal on Steam for Mac, but no other games in the Half-Life Universe or TF2! Nobody gives a crap about games like Max and the Magic Marker or Quantz! I WANT HALF-LIFE 2 AND SOURCE SDK!!!!! YOU GUYS WILL MAKE SOME MUCH MORE MONEY IF YOU JUST PUT SOME WORK INTO MAKING THESE THINGS COMPATIBLE WITH MAC INSTEAD OF WASTING YOUR GODDAMN TIME RELEASING THESE DUMB GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im not thankful, because i was just playing portal today and decided to mess around with the console and found that EVERY npc from Half-Life 2 is fully available for creation in the game, as is every weapon too. They all run just as smoothly as they did in HL2's PC version, so i still have no.
clue as to why HL2 isn't available for play right now.seriously, does steam just wanna. off its users? Its not even good business!
They could make so much money off of mac users wanting to buy and play HL2 at last.
